On 23rd January 2025, the Executive Board of the Filipino Women’s Association UK (FWA-UK) paid a courtesy call to the Philippine Embassy in London. The delegation was warmly received by His Excellency Ambassador Teodoro Locsin Jr. and Madame Lourdes Locsin, along with key officials from the embassy. The meeting served as an opportunity to discuss FWA-UK’s ongoing initiatives and to further strengthen the association’s partnership with the embassy in promoting Filipino culture and supporting the Filipino community in the UK.
During the visit, FWA-UK Chairperson, Velly Cattermole, expressed the association’s gratitude for the embassy’s continued support and highlighted key achievements over the past year, including successful events such as the 2024 International Women’s Day celebration, the Perya sa Pasko Christmas Fayre, and the Philippine National Day (PND) 2024 celebration. The Executive Board also provided an overview of upcoming projects, such as the highly anticipated Philippine National Day (PND) celebration scheduled for 7th June 2025 at the Royal Garden Hotel.
Ambassador Teodoro Locsin Jr. commended the association’s unwavering commitment to empowering Filipino women and fostering community engagement. He reaffirmed the embassy’s support for FWA-UK’s initiatives and encouraged further collaboration on projects aimed at strengthening the Filipino presence in the UK.
The courtesy call reaffirmed FWA-UK’s dedication to its mission of supporting and uplifting Filipino women in the UK. The association looks forward to further collaborations with the Philippine Embassy in continuing its advocacy and outreach efforts.
