Operation Paglingap: A Mission of Care and Compassion

On 2 August 2025, the Filipino Women’s Association UK (FWA-UK), in collaboration with the Inner Wheel Club of Rosario Diamond (IWC-RD), successfully carried out Operation Paglingap: Kalingang may Yakap at the Amazing Faith in Jesus Greatly Blessed Church in Navotas City, Philippines.

The initiative was designed to bring practical assistance and heartfelt support to the church’s community, consisting of 80 families, 30 students, and five church administrators.

A Community of Faith and Resilience

The Amazing Faith in Jesus Greatly Blessed Church, under the leadership of Pastor Heinrich and Pastora Maribeth Arnaiz, has long been a pillar of strength for its members. During times of adversity, including typhoon seasons, the church community has consistently looked after one another. This project built upon that foundation of care by extending vital support through donations and supplies.

What We Shared

Each family received:

  • 5 kilos of rice
  • Essential groceries such as canned goods, noodles, coffee, and sugar
  • Health kits containing soaps, toothpaste, toothbrushes, cotton buds, alcohol, detergent bars, and slippers

To further support education, 30 students – including five FWA-UK scholars – were gifted with school supplies (notebooks, pens, and pencils). Families and children also enjoyed nutritious snacks of sopas and refreshments during the programme.

Packed with love and care — food packs, school supplies, and essentials ready for distribution during Operation Paglingap: Kalingang may Yakap, reaching 80 families and 30 students in Navotas City.

Programme Highlights

The event opened with a prayer and welcome messages from church leaders and IWC-RD representatives. Guests and beneficiaries came together in gratitude before the distribution of goods, which was organised in batches to ensure fairness and order. The programme concluded with photo opportunities and an assessment session for planning future collaborative projects.

Collective Impact

The project was made possible through a combined budget of ₱75,330 from FWA-UK and ₱11,000 from IWC-RD. The generosity of donors and the dedication of volunteers turned this mission into a tangible expression of care and solidarity.

Representatives from IWC-RD, including Past District Chairmen Ofelia Valiente and Derlyn Maceda, Club President Arnie Jaen, and several other members, joined the activity, strengthening the bond between the two organisations.

This partnership reaffirms our shared mission: to uplift communities, support education, and nurture hope for a brighter future.
