The Outreach Committee of the Filipino Women’s Association UK proudly hosted a heartwarming Senior’s Event on Saturday, 22nd March 2025 at St Philip’s Church in Earls Court. With around 15 attendees, the afternoon was filled with movement, laughter, and meaningful connection—bringing together members of our senior community for a memorable and uplifting day.
The programme kicked off with an energising Zumba session, led by fellow FWA-UK member Stella Sait from Ilaw Ltd. Stella’s vibrant energy and infectious encouragement had everyone on their feet—the exercises were done standing up, and participants enthusiastically followed the rhythm, proving that staying active can be fun and inclusive at any age.
After the Zumba, guests enjoyed a relaxed and sociable merienda, featuring a delicious spread of pastries, sandwiches, cheese, crackers, and traditional Filipino biko. The food offered a comforting taste of home, sparking warm conversations and shared laughter.
he event concluded with a lively raffle draw, where attendees had the chance to win a range of prizes including homeware, fashion accessories, personal care items, and gift vouchers. The excitement was palpable as each winner was announced, and the smiles were contagious.
This gathering reflected the heart of the Outreach Committee’s mission: to promote wellbeing, build connection, and show appreciation for our senior community.
