FWA Celebrates International Women’s Day 2020

FWA-UK has a vision of a world where women, especially Filipino women living in the United Kingdom and in the Philippines enjoy equality, respect and opportunities for development in all aspects of life in the home and in the wider community.

We celebrated International Women’s Day on Monday 9 March 2020 5.30pm at the Royal Garden Hotel High Street Kensington. Theme of the event was:

“Rising to challenges: Poverty Life and Health”.

We were very much privileged to have Ms Joy Ongcachuy, OBE as one of our guest speakers during the event. Ms Ongcachuy is a Filipino nurse who was awarded by HM The Queen presented by HRH The Prince of Wales for her services during the London Bridge Terror attack in 2017.

The event was fully booked and a success all round.

We will rise amidst the challenges Time comes that our differences will be the source of our strength. There will always be a unity in diversity. We are women!#IWD2020
