The San Rafael Group in Bulacan made a short video and a letter to the FWA-UK for its contribution to the Typhoon Appeal. The money sent to the group went towards the purchase of rice and canned goods.
The distribution of the goods was intended to be done on site where the victims’ houses were destroyed and flooded but the day the organisers scheduled to distribute them, it rained hard, so they did the distribution at the house of the rice supplier.
As the relief distribution was only a few days before Christmas, the Group Leader decided for the “special festive food” of canned goods to compliment the rice; simplest of way to hopefully uplift and set these families to feel the true spirit of Christmas, the joy of giving, receiving, sharing in-spite of the situation they were in. Some may not say much but the beaming smiles as they collected their share of these graces said it all.
