The FWA-UK conducted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Sunday, 18th September 2022 at The Theatre, St Mary Abbots Centre, Vicarage Gate, London W8 4HN.
The programme started with a prayer led by Bing Cabatic, followed by the Chairman’s and Treasurer’s reports and Q&As. The Chairman, Dulia Prado, paid tribute to the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and expressed her deepest condolences during this time of great loss.
This was her second term as a Chairman and she said,
the FWA-UK moved forward regardless of the uncertainties brought about by the pandemic. I am proud to be a part of the brilliant and hardworking team of Trustees who gave their time and expertise to our cause. As a Board, much was accomplished”.
Special acknowledgements were also made for the Officers and Trustees who have completed their terms or have resigned:
- Arlene Morley, Vice-Chairman for External Affairs, who played a significant role in making sure the Association complied with their mandatory filings with the Charities Commission.
- Adelle Beltran, who was the Assistant Treasurer
- Jeannette Thomson, who led the Fundraising Committee and secured the Association’s first ever public funding.
The second part of the programme proceeded with the election of the members of the Board who gathered and elected a new set of members. The election was conducted and supervised by former Chairman Edna Kim, along with members Dina Trinidad and Jennifer Oliveros – Sniezek. After the election, the elected and current members of the Board held a special meeting and formed a new set of officers for 2022 – 2023.
