FWA-UK Founding Day Celebration

The Filipino Women’s Association UK is gearing up to celebrate its upcoming founding day on 29th April in Kensington London. The event promises to be a simple yet meaningful celebration, centered around a thanksgiving mass to express gratitude for the association’s achievements over the years.

The celebration will be attended by members of the FWA-UK community, who will come together to commemorate the association’s founding day. The thanksgiving mass will be held on 29th April at 13:30 in Our Lady of Mount Carmel and St Simon Stock Catholic church in 41 Kensington Church St, London W8 4BB. The mass will be followed by a simple reception at 14:30 in the Theatre at St Mary Abbots Centre, Vicarage Gate, London W8 4HN.

The founding of FWA-UK dates back to April 1988, when a group of Filipino women in London came together to create an organisation that would help uplift the image of the Filipino woman in the UK.  Since then, FWA-UK has grown into a thriving community of Filipino women who come together to celebrate their culture and support each other.

They have since built on their talents and skills to make FWA-UK an enduring and credible organisation of strong-minded women leaders committed to making a difference in the lives of our Filipino youth, and the wider Filipino community in the UK.

The upcoming founding day celebration is an opportunity for the FWA-UK to reflect on its achievements and to reaffirm its commitment to projecting  and bringing together a balanced view of Filipino women, their diverse occupations as well as emphasising their importance and contribution to society by promoting friendship and understanding between the Philippines and the UK. The thanksgiving mass is a symbol of the association’s gratitude for the support and encouragement it has received over the years and a reminder of the importance of unity and community.

The FWA-UK would like to invite everyone to celebrate this momentous event with us and welcome donations of any kind towards our scholarship and outreach projects.
